This will be the new V+ regulated power supply for the HP Pulse Generator. Not the prettiest but it works, outputting 17.2 Volts. But I can’t screw this directly because the chassis is Grounded and this regulator metal tab is V+ output. So with a mica insulator and nylon plastic screws (on order), I hope to fix that problem. The existing transistor can be screwed directly to case because it’s plastic body is insulated. This LM317 needs to be heatsinked because it will be dissipating 7+ watts, without heatsinks it will do a thermal shutdown. #hp #repair #upgrade #pulsegenerator #troubleshooting #power #powersupply #psu #diy #voltage #electronics #electronicsengineering
